Installation Notes
- Mount the drive upright in a clean panel.
- Keep the air gap open. The fan cools the heat sink.
- Use the 25-JBAx kit for NEMA 1 protection.
- Wire input to the 1-phase supply. Wire the motor to T1, T2 and T3.
- Earth the drive well. Leakage current tops 3.5 mA AC and 10 mA DC.
- Add an external EMC filter for C1, C2 or C3 limits.
- Add a brake resistor if you need dynamic braking.
- Do not use on public low-voltage grids that feed homes.
- Ask the grid operator about harmonic limits first.
Setup and Service
- Use the keypad and LED display for quick local setup.
- Set the drive up in Studio 5000 with motion commands.
- Accel and decel are REAL tags. See manual MOTION-RM002.
- Stop modes: Disable and Coast, Current Decel and Disable, Ramped Decel and Disable.
- The fan-cooled frame keeps service quick. Frame B parts are easy to reach.
Ideal Equipment and Applications
- Conveyors: smooth start and stop with sensorless vector control.
- Pumps and fans: Fan/Pump V/Hz saves energy at part load.
- Packaging machines: CIP Motion gives exact position and speed.
- Material handling: DLR keeps the line running if one link drops.
- Small mixers and agitators: 1 HP covers light duty loads.
- Safety zones: STO cuts torque fast without extra contactors.

FAQ
- How much current can this drive push?
- It delivers 4.8 A continuous. Heavy duty overload reaches 150% for 60 s and 180% for 3 s.
- Will it run a 1 HP motor on a 120V line?
- Yes. It is rated 0.75 kW (1 HP) on 100…120V AC single-phase input. Use the correct motor cables.
- What makes the 527 different from the 525?
- The 527 uses EtherNet/IP for control. The 525 offers an RS-485 DSI port and Modbus RTU.
- Can I keep a line running if a network cable fails?
- Yes. DLR ring topology keeps traffic alive when one link breaks. Set the ring before you start production.
- Do I need the fan kit for a warm panel?
- Only above 50 °C. Add the 25-FANx-70C kit for up to 70 °C with derating. Check the panel first.
