Installation Guide
- Mount the drive vertically on a panel. Use the DIN-rail clip or screw holes for Frame B.
- Keep clearance around the drive for airflow. Do not block the fan.
- Connect 100–120V AC single-phase input to the line terminals.
- Wire the three-phase motor to terminals T1, T2 and T3.
- Use an external brake resistor if you need dynamic braking.
- Add the 25-JBAx kit for IP30 / NEMA 1 protection.
- Install the 25-FANx-70C fan kit for operation above 50 °C.
- Ground the drive properly. Leakage current can exceed 3.5 mA AC.
- Use shielded motor cables to reduce radio frequency interference.
- Connect the STO wiring for safety-rated stop. Response time is under 12 ms.
- Plug in the dual EtherNet/IP ports. Use linear, star or DLR topology.
Setup and Maintenance
- Use the integral keypad and LED display for local setup.
- Set motor data with the potentiometer and keys.
- Configure parameters through Studio 5000 with a Logix controller.
- Use CIP Motion commands for speed and position control.
- Check the fan regularly. Replace it if airflow drops.
- Clean the heatsink fins with dry air. Do not use liquids.
- Verify STO wiring at each maintenance interval.
- Keep the enclosure free of dust, corrosive gas and moisture.
Compatibility Notes
- Works with Logix-based controllers over EtherNet/IP.
- Use a 1756-EN2T, 1756-EN2TR or 1756-EN3TR module with ControlLogix.
- CompactLogix 5370 controllers use the built-in dual EtherNet/IP ports.
- Supports CIP Safety for combined safety and control data.
- Accepts the 25-ENC-2 encoder board for closed-loop control.
- Uses the 25-JBAx kit for NEMA 1 / UL Type 1 enclosure.
- Uses the 25-FANx-70C kit to raise the ambient limit to 70 °C.
- Compatible with 1203-USB converter for PC setup.
- No RS-485 DSI or Modbus RTU port on this model.

FAQ
- Can this drive run on single-phase power?
Yes. The 25C-V6P0N104 is rated for 100–120V AC single-phase input at full power. - What is the maximum motor power?
It delivers 1.1 kW (1.5 HP) in both normal duty and heavy duty. - Does it include an EMC filter?
No. This catalog number has no integral EMC filter. You must add an external filter for EN 61800-3 compliance. - How do I get closed-loop speed control?
Install the 25-ENC-2 encoder option board. Speed regulation then improves to ±0.1% across a 100:1 range. - What is the Safe Torque Off response time?
The STO function reacts in less than 12 ms. It is certified to PLe and SIL CL 3. - Can I mount it on a DIN rail?
Yes. Frame B accepts DIN-rail or screw mounting. - How do I raise the ambient temperature limit?
Add the 25-FANx-70C control module fan kit. It raises the maximum surrounding air temperature to 70 °C. - What network does it use?
It has dual embedded EtherNet/IP ports. They support linear, star and Device Level Ring topologies. - Is an encoder required for basic operation?
No. You can run the drive in Volts/Hertz or sensorless vector mode without an encoder. - What is the typical lead time?
Commercial data such as stock and lead time is not covered here. Check with your Rockwell Automation distributor. - Can I use a brake resistor?
Yes. The drive has an integral brake IGBT. You must connect an external brake resistor for dynamic braking. - What is a common setup mistake?
Forgetting external EMC filtering. Without it, radio frequency interference can disturb nearby equipment.
