No. The extended case is purely mechanical. The electrical sensing characteristics and system calibration remain identical to standard-length 3300 XL 11mm probes.

Can I use this to replace a standard 80mm probe in the same hole?

Only if the mounting hole is deep enough. The 230mm probe will protrude much further. Verify there is adequate clearance and that the sensing tip position relative to the shaft is still correct.

We also use 8mm probes. Are they similar?

No. The sensing diameter is critical. This 11mm probe and an 3300 XL 8mm Proximity Probe have different electrical properties and are not interchangeable in the monitoring system.
