Product details
ESV152N04TXB Lenze SMVector Inverter – 1.5 kW, 400/480 V, Sensorless Vector
ESV152N04TXB is a Lenze SMVector frequency inverter. It drives a 1.5 kW (2 HP) motor on 3/PE 400/480 V mains. Sensorless vector control gives strong torque at low speed. The NEMA 1 (IP31) housing suits indoor panels. This is the standard X-coded variant with no integrated EMC filter. A plug-in slot accepts Modbus, CANopen, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS DP or EtherNet/IP cards. The series is legacy. Lenze points to i500/i550 protec as successor. Official v16.0 instructions remain online.

Installation Guide
- Mount upright on a flat panel. Keep 50 mm clear space above and below.
- Use the PE terminal for a solid ground bond. Keep motor cable short.
- This variant has no internal EMC filter. Add an external filter for long motor cables.
- Tighten terminals to the torque in the v16.0 instructions.
- Separate power wiring from signal wiring to cut noise.
Setup and Maintenance
- Run auto-tuning at first start. It matches the drive to the motor.
- Set motor data from the nameplate before tuning.
- Copy parameters to a spare drive for fast swap-out.
- Clean the heatsink with dry air every 6 to 12 months.
- Check fan and terminal screws at each service visit.
Compatibility Notes
- Works with standard 3-phase induction motors up to 1.5 kW.
- Network cards are plug-in. Fit one card per slot.
- Existing SMVector parameter files transfer to spare units.
- For new builds, Lenze advises the i500/i550 protec line.
Approvals and Compliance
- CE and cULus marks per Lenze SMVector documentation.
- IP31 rated for indoor cabinet use. Not for wet or dusty areas.
- EMC performance depends on external filtering and wiring.

Manager’s Insight
This unit fits retrofit work. It drops into existing SMVector panels without rewiring. Stock it as a spare for lines that still run SMVector drives. Do not design it into new machines. The option slot keeps old Modbus and DeviceNet networks alive. Buyers get a proven drive at legacy pricing. Ask us for a matched EMC filter when motor cables run long. Best Fit Devices and Applications
- Conveyors, fans and pumps up to 1.5 kW
- Packaging and labelling machines
- Retrofit of AC Tech SMVector panels
- Indoor skids with Modbus or DeviceNet control
- Spare-part stock for legacy production lines
Buying Guide
- Check mains voltage first. This model covers 400 to 480 V three-phase.
- Match motor current to 4.0 A at 400 V. Do not size by kW alone.
- Pick the network card before you order. The base unit has no card.
- Plan external EMC filtering for long motor runs.
- For a new design, compare against the i550 protec first.
- Order a spare. Legacy stock will shrink over time.
FAQ
- Does this drive include a network card?
No. The option slot is empty on the base unit. Add a card for Modbus, CANopen, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS DP or EtherNet/IP. - Can I run a 2 HP motor at 480 V?
Yes, when motor current stays under 3.5 A at 480 V. - Is an EMC filter built in?
No. This is the X-coded standard variant. Fit an external filter where EMC limits apply. - How do I handle heat above 40 °C?
Derate output current by 2.5 % per °C, up to 55 °C. - What replaces this model long term?
Lenze lists the i500/i550 protec as successor. Keep spares for current lines. - Experienced tip: how do I avoid nuisance trips?
Run auto-tuning, then set the overload curve to match the motor. Most trips come from a wrong motor current value. - Experienced tip: how do I cut noise on old panels?
Ground the motor frame to the drive PE with a short, thick cable. Keep signal wires away from motor cables. - How fast do you ship?
Orders leave in 12 to 24 hours by FedEx, UPS or DHL. - What warranty do I get?
12 months from delivery. - How do I confirm fit before buying?
