A: DI890 has built‑in Intrinsic Safety components on every channel. You can connect sensors directly in hazardous areas (Zone 0/1/2) without external zener barriers or isolators. Saves space and cost. - Q: Can I use volt‑free contacts with line fault detection?
A: Yes, but you must add external resistors. Connect a 1 kΩ resistor in parallel with the contact and a 4.7 kΩ resistor in series. This lets the module detect open/short circuits in the field wiring. - Q: Which MTU should I order with DI890?
