Meet the 2198-C1007-ERS
The 2198-C1007-ERS is a Kinetix 5300 single-axis servo drive. Allen-Bradley builds it for integrated motion on EtherNet/IP. It fits small machines that need one strong, networked axis.
This drive takes 100…240V AC input. It gives up to 1.18 kW at 230V three-phase. Frame 1 saves panel space. IP20 housing suits cabinet mounting. Hardwired Safe Torque Off adds a certified safety stop. Dual EtherNet/IP ports make wiring simple.

Mount and Wire
- Mount upright inside a grounded cabinet.
- Leave airflow space above and below.
- Engage the zero-stack tab between close drives.
- Feed 24V DC through the 2198-TCON-24VDCIN36 kit.
- Add the 2198-H040-P-T T-connector for Frame 1.
- Wire the STO loop to its own connector.
- Fit the 2198-DB08-F filter for CE work.
- Keep motor cables within 30 m.
- Limit power cycling to once per minute.
Easy Setup, Low Upkeep
- Four keys and a clear display speed local checks.
- Status LEDs show link and module health fast.
- Brake delays come from the KNX-TD001 tables.
- Replace worn plugs with the 2198-CONKIT-PWR20 set.
- Use the 2198-K53CK-D15M kit for flying-lead cables.
- No fan on Frame 1 means one less part to fail.

In the Carton
- One 2198-C1007-ERS drive
- One full connector set
- One clamp spacer
- Printed install sheet
Filter and shared-bus parts ship apart. Check the carton label first.
Where It Fits Best
- Packaging lines with one fast axis
- Index tables and rotary cutters
- Labeling and filling stations
- Small conveyors and gantries
- Test benches and lab rigs
- Machine cells that already use Logix control
Pick this size when peak torque is modest. Step up to a larger frame for heavy loads.
FAQ
Will this unit take a 480V feed?
No. It tops out at 253V rms. Choose a 400V class drive for higher mains.
How many registration sensors can run at once?
Two. The drive has four inputs, but only two can mark position together.
What happens if the STO loop opens?
Power to the motor drops at once. The axis coasts to a Stop Category 0 state.
Does this model need a cooling fan?
No. Frame 1 drives have no fan. Frame 2 and 3 drives carry one.
From field work, what trips most new builds?
Swapped STO wires and wrong brake delay values. Check both before you enable the axis.
