 6.0 Professional FAQ (experience + selection guide)

• Can BC820 work with older PM866 (pre‑PR:F)?No. It needs PM866 with PR:F or later (PM866K01 PR:H or later). Check your CPU revision.
• I want redundant CEX‑Bus. How many BC820 units do I need?One BC820 can create two segments. For full redundancy use two BC820s, each with its own power.
• Is external power mandatory?The BC820 draws power from the CPU via CEX‑Bus. External supply is optional but recommended for redundant setups.
• What maximum distance can I achieve?Both RCU Control (copper) and Data (fiber) links support up to 200 m. Fiber gives electrical isolation.
• Does the kit include cables or connectors?No. You must order RJ45 crossover cables and LC fiber cables separately. See 3BSE036351-* for exact types.
